Knightsbridge Furniture Emlpoyees Recieve Long Service Awards

Three employees have been presented with long service awards to mark their 25 years with Yorkshire-based manufacturer Knightsbridge Furniture. Chairman Margaret Miller made the presentations during a ceremony at the company’s headquarters on Thornton Road, Bradford.

Pictured (left to right) are Knightsbridge chairman Margaret Miller, sewing machinist Tamara Winters, who came in on her day off to be presented with a clock for her new home in Baildon, wood machinist Mark Doherty from Wilsden, who joined Knightsbridge as a school leaver in 1988, and Bradford’s Steve Coyle, who leads the team responsible for the company’s timber stores. Also pictured are MD Alan Towns and operations director Peter Denham.

"We’re always delighted to mark long service milestones and thank Tamara, Mark and Steve for their dedication over the last 25 years," says Margaret, who joined Knightsbridge in 1959 and who is proud of the company’s family atmosphere. "We’ve been established for over 75 years and a high percentage of employees have been with us for 40 years or more, which is a rarity these days. There have even been a number of marriages between staff over the years, and it’s not unknown for the second or even third generation to want to join us too!"
